Update Regarding the Ipod

I was actually hoping that a vast majority of sim directors out there would jump at the chance to win an ipod touch.

However, considering the overwhelming lack of interest I have no choice but to cancel the contest.

I have talked to the Simstube owner and he and I have decided that the ipod contest give away would be more appropriate to have when there are more members. (either 5,000 or 10,000 members). Whenever that will be…

So what’s happening to the few of you that actually did enter or have worked on your entries?

As of now the only appropriate action to take is the postpone the contest and acquire a new and cheaper prize.

As of now I am open for suggestions.

For now the Award Shows will go as followed:

Viewer’s Choice – July 1st
Music Video – August 1st
Complex – September 1st

Nominations for each Award Show will occur roughly a month before each award show and will be posted on this website.

So that means that in a couple of weeks you will be able to vote for the Viewer’s Choice Awards.

Dwight Michael and I have divided up the list of director’s… and we’ll be discussing nominations in a couple of weeks. We hope to have the nominations up for the viewer’s choice by the end of April so come back then.

Since we only have about 2 entries for the ipod contest it looks like the deadline will be extended.

Need Your Help

Viewer’s Choice Nominees will be up in the next month. Before that happens please answer this poll:

We’re trying to figure out the cut off for “Viewer’s Choice”. For instance if the winner of this poll is ____ then anyone who has less than ___ subs will only be considered for the other award shows UNLESS they happen to have a video that has a lot of views (over 20,000).

So vote wisely please.

To Clarify

When I say “original” video I mean something that you created AFTER the contest was announced for the sole purpose of entering the contest.

There was a little mix up today, but everything is alright now .

Also to everyone saying they needed more time. The ways things are headed it looks as though the deadline will be extended. We need a certain amount of entries before any kind of judgment can be made.

By the way, the judge list is under construction. Jim Complex will no longer be a judge due to a conflict of interest between him and our sponsor.

Some Updates

So. I have talked to the sponsor. The problems are going to be fixed shortly. They must first find a new server (which takes about 3 days to set up once purchased), install the script, then as the makers of the script to fix the coding before they can launch their site.

Which means as soon as that is all taken care of I will finally be able to announce the contest, and the ipod touch. When this does happen, you will have roughly 2 and a half months to complete your submissions.

I am glad they are taking their time because it wouldn’t be a very good idea for them to release it to the public if it wasn’t working.
